Voting has reached a whole new level in 2016 with MimioVote and MimioMobile! Who is ready to “Get out the vote?” Using MimioVote assessment is particularly appropriate when teaching about the 2016 elections. The Presidential and Congressional elections are in the news, in the media, and in everyday conversations, so even the youngest students are motivated to learn about them. Teaching about the elections is also a fresh way to cover state and local standards.
In this lesson, students will learn about the voting process through a variety of fun and engaging interactive activities. Since the Presidential election is not the only part of the 2016 election, students will explore the House and Senate and how their elections also impact the nation. Students in 7-12 grades will explore state senators and representatives. Be sure to download the appropriate grade leveled lesson to suit your classroom needs.
